Tata NANO – The New Revolution
Tata NanoIt is not everyday that you get a chance to create history. But when you do, then the world stops to hear you.
That is why now all eyes are on India and on Ratan Tata’s dream car for the common man, the recently launched NANO. The world’s cheapest car is all set to change the way India drives with a price tag of just INR 100,000 (approximately 2500 USD).
NANO is definitely making waves around the world. It is a revolution for India similar to Apple’s iPod. And with it has finally come the recognition for India as a technology leader and not a mere low-cost hub known for cheap labour.
What is significant about the NANO is not the low-cost but making high technology available at low-cost, putting safer transport into the hands of middle and lower class families across the world.
The company is set to roll out NANO in the third quarter of the next fiscal. Predictions are already running high with analysts believing that the company will sell 60,000-65,000 units of the NANO in the first year of launch. And world over automobiles companies seem to have suddenly awakened to this revolutionary concept and there is a fast scramble to attempt to imitate or out do the NANO.
The biggest breakthrough with the launch of NANO – “The People’s Car” is that finally products and services are now being designed for the common man. This change from catering to needs of premium segment to designing around the needs of common people is a revolution by itself. Something that even the biggest multinationals have not ventured into till now. And this could just be the beginning of many more such innovations to come.
Until such time, the NANO continues to rule!
